ARRMA's Typhon GROM 223S BLX is a small-scale brushless buggy that stands out for upgraded hardware and strong performance in a compact package. The brushless version adds all metal diffs and metal shocks, and the included battery and charger make the bundle feel better value than the bare car. Its size is truly small, with an 8 inch wheelbase and 12 inch overall length, yet it can still reach speeds around 40 mph. The main cautions are the usual RC realities, with LiPo safety, frequent parts replacement under hard use, and enough speed to cause injury or damage. It is a capable little platform if you are ready for the hobby side of it.
The included battery and charger make this brushless Typhon GROM bundle a stronger value than battery-less options.
ARRMA Grom models have been described as fun and a hit for family use, including Christmas gifting.
The brushless version includes upgraded parts compared with brushed models, including all-metal diffs and metal shocks.
The car's compact dimensions clarify its small-scale size, with an 8-inch wheelbase and 12-inch overall length.
LiPo battery safety risks mean this hobby requires adult supervision during operation and handling.
Even on 2S with power limiting, the vehicle can still cause injury or damage at higher speeds.
Frequent part replacement can be expected, including axles, gears, control arms, and shock towers.
The ESC and receiver being combined is a design drawback that some buyers wish were separate.

Always wanted one as a teen back in 1992/1993 but no money.
at 49 years old still wanted one. but afraid it will lead me into rabbit hole....
back in 2024 I got a DJI mini 3 drone from a SD deal $425. march 2026 I just added my the cost of being sucked into the hobby. at ~$12,500 spent. between the different drones, parts, accessories and certifications and joining flight clubs etc..
MUST RESIST!
Price seems back to normal, I grabbed one, I had an extra $10 off by using discover cashback, that mixed with the amount of cashback I used, was just too easy to justify.
I already have the brushed version that I upgraded to brushless. But now my son can run one with me.
