I had a similar aluminum moka pot, wouldn't recommend, the aluminum reacts with the coffee

I picked this up last time it was on sale. It's a cool smaller coffee maker and the coffee came out strong. It was fun to brew with it, too.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a non-aluminum version of this?

I paid $5.49 for this in March 2020. 6 years later, this price isn't bad. However, mine just collects dust in my cabinet. Every few months I break it out and soon remember how annoyingly fiddly it is to get a decent cup of coffee out of it, and it goes back in the cabinet and the cycle repeats.

Got mine for $5.50 about 6 years ago. Once i figured out how to use it, i love the coffee i get from it. Stronger than drip brew, not as concentrated as a shot of espresso.

Went to buy, and Amazon reminded me I bought this in 2020 for $6.25.

I bought one the last time it was on 'sale'. In fact, according to the price history, it's been 8.60 for a long time, and every time it's been reposted in the last few months, it's been 8.60. I'd say the regular price is.. 8.60.

I used mine for the first time today, I've been putting it off for a bit, although I already bought a bag of roasted coffee to use with it.

Review:
It feels cheap, thin aluminum and plastic handle that you have to watch that it doesn't get over the stove too much - which youtube videos on how to make coffee with devices like this mention in warning.

It works fine, and was easy to use. It made a great coffee, and I'm still caffeinated from it. If you have a cheap coffee grinder to go along with this, you might really enjoy it.

It might be had for a cheaper price, seeing 8.60 is the standard. I'm probably going to switch to cold brewed coffee (price - free), but this is an ok product for what it is.

Real question is, does aluminum oxide react with coffee?

Assuming you're not stirring your coffee in this pot using sharp tools that could breach the oxide layer and expose the metallic aluminum.

Coming back to say that it appears all the comments on aluminum, including my own, have been deleted by the SD staffing team.

This is for making espresso. Not regular American coffee.
