I grabbed one of these last year from one of the HD hack deals. It's been incredibly useful for cutting up small stuff (medium trees, scrap wood, etc.). Highly recommend especially at this price. Only note is that I went to use it after storing hanging up in the garage all winter (hung in the garage by the mount on the back of the handle) and it leaked chain oil all over my garage. Simple answer is to not store for long periods with oil but still annoying.

I have the 20v saw and a ton of 20v tools and batteries. 20v saw is great for small medium branches and stuff, but defintley not large branches, tree trunks or logs.

I don't have any 60v batteries but have been thinking about jumping in. This is available at my local store. Tempting.....

Looks like my store may have a couple. Would pick one up if I already had the batteries for it. I kind of need a chainsaw. All I have is a 8 inch poll saw for pruning the trees in my back yard. Would like a chainsaw for cutitng up firewood and cleaning up some of the bigger trees behind my house.

I snagged the deal from Runnings on here a couple days ago. Might still be going. Two 9ah flexvolt batteries for $239.

In my original post I stated that about 25% of HD stores had these in stock. So you've got about a 1 in 4 chance that one will be in stock near you. This is based on dsta from rebelsavings.com, which tracks sales at certain retailers.

Good looking out! My local store had 3 in stock was able to grab one before the resellers did. Been wanting one for light duty instead of grabbing the gas saw.

All Dewalt chain saws leak oil everywhere -- not just a little, it pours out. I've had two of these and the pole saw -- all the same issue. Chain oil is cheap, but it's also a pain to have spilled everywhere

can still be done. i store my saw on it's side ON a card board square........seems most saws will leak oil, part of the fun. at least you miss the Joy of starting a gas saw et al.
of course if you empty the oil out, then the next fun is remembering to fill it up again. if not, buy lots of extra chains, amazon has tons of them affordable.
