This Moto G Power 5G bundle stands out as a low-cost way to get two 8GB RAM phones with Tracfone service, and the included allowance is 1,500 minutes, 1,500 texts, and 1.5GB for the year. The phones can be useful as backup devices, Wi Fi calling phones, or even media players, and the service can be activated later for gifting. The main catch is unlocking, since current Tracfone policy requires 365 days of active paid service and the bundled year may not count toward that clock. Software support also looks limited, with Android 15 confirmed and security updates ending around March 2027.
The phones can be used as Wi‑Fi calling devices after transferring service between the two lines.
The included allowance is 1500 minutes and 1500 texts per year, and it can be used across the full year period.
The phones can receive Android 15 updates now, with Android 16 still possible but not guaranteed.
The deal can work well for backup or media playback use while waiting out the unlock timeline.
Unlocking requires 365 days of paid active service, so the bundled one-year service does not shorten that wait.
Transferring service between the two phones can make the first phone no longer active, which can affect unlock timing.
Android and security support may be limited, with software updates ending at the end of March 2027 and no security fixes afterward.
Wi‑Fi calling setup can be problematic, including cases where the emergency address update fails and the Wi‑Fi calling option is greyed out.

Yes to all questions.
Log in to your account using your active Tracfone line. Activate the new phone while keeping the same number from your active line. The new phone will then have your current Tracfone line along with 1 extra year and 1,500 extra units in each bucket. The original phone will become inactive.
After confirming the new phone is working properly, you can reactivate the original phone with the same number, and everything will transfer back.
Current unlock policy is on the TF website.

When you reactivate the original phone with the same number, do you insert the new SIMcard into the original phone, or just leave the old SIMcard in the original phone?
Does the phone need to have service, after the 365 days of service, on the day you want to unlock the phone using the TFWUnlockPolicy.com website?

Sure they want people to go to monthly automatic plans but it's not a requirement, it's just advertising.
Bundles are still being sold with yearly plans which get automatically added when phone is activated (balance can sometimes take time to update correctly). Contact support if yours doesn't.
