Can someone please clarify how I need to spend the money? I used the PP debit card for checkout at costco.com to buy shop cards a.k.a. Costco gift cards (this used to work fine), and none of my purchases are counting towards the promos. Do the purchases need to be a Paypal checkout option (log into Paypal during checkout)? I hate when they change things that previously worked.

the physical PP card, or?
No, I purchased physical Walmart GC's at Walmart.com, and used Paypal as the payment method to pay for them.

You need to use Paypal Checkout afaik.

Has anybody tried paying with Paypal on GCX? It's not clear to me if GCX is using Paypal Checkout or just the Paypal Debit Card. To add Paypal to GCX is looks like it's linking it for checkout, but displays like it's just a card. If nobody answers, I'll eventually throw money at it and see.

Paypal check out let's you pick the card you use to pay, it doesn't matter what card you pick outside of cb since you're still using paypal checkout.

Thanks, you are correct. I thought I was still adding Paypal checkout as a payment option rather than configuring the option I was in the process of adding. Normally I do that step myself via a direct Paypal app or Paypal site login to access settings.

PayPal gives me 5% cash back on all my Costco purchases each month, can't beat that
Does it consider Costco to be entirely "grocery", or does it have a way to break down the receipt and only cashback the actual groceries? TIA

They don't know what you bought, as long as it is a grocery store thats all that matters.

Well, that's not cool. Added Paypal checkout to GCX and made a purchase (Paypal balance) and it's not counted as Paypal checkout (note: money taken right away). Also tried a MyGiftCardsPlus, and that worked perfectly and was counted right away, despite the money still sitting in my account for 24 hours now, pending.

Yeah, I had get $15 in points for 3x >$40 within 14 days and waited until today when I was ready to buy that much. Now I went to activate the offer and it's gone. I thought I had until May but they must have used up all the promo bucks in the first couple weeks. Pretty lame. Maybe they'll expand/refill it, but I'm not too hopeful.

Update: I checked again April 1st, and the 3x $40 or more gets you 1500 ($15) offer was back. I quickly saved it this time. 1500 pts now pending after just making the needed purchases.

Target has B1 get 10% off 2nd airtime cards. Feels like a waste to not use the 5% Circle/Redcard discount, but Target.com does take Paypal.
This will also help satisfy select Circle bonuses, such as making multiple $40 purchases to receive a Target GC.
Hope nobody else ran into the same trouble I did. Did B1G1 on $30 Cricket cards, times 2 transactions. So each was $30 plus (30 - 10%) $27 = $57.

Target shows two $57 purchases, but Paypal shows four $28.50 purchases!?!?
:sigh:

you can convert to account credit, then transfer to your bank account
Unfortunately, you can't do that until points go from "pending" to "available".
