Well Nissin got the original title because they came out in 1971. Maruchan cup noodle come out after in 1972. However, by availability Maruchan is more present in some country than other. Also, most people I know prefer Maruchan over Nissin for their taste.

Eating these long before 1970, so i searched. Quick goggle search shows you are wrong. Nissan pioneered instant ramen in 1958. Nissan is the healthier choice, but Marchan makes softer noodles
