I had this exact same case for my last phone and purchased it at an ever lower price (~$7). Within a week of use, the "silicone" outer layer had begun wearing off majorly, revealing the hard slippery plastic underneath. This is 100% not TPU or silicone: it's polycarbonate. The plastic in the corners is very brittle too and cracked without my dropping it even once. Apple's cases are extremely hit or miss, and if they're on deep discount it's because they're not very good. Save your money and buy something elsewhere - maybe off eBay or AliExpress if you want to save a buck.
