can't find the fccid page for this one, don't know the SoC or cpu, same as always, no openwrt no buy

Why did manufactures stop making travel routers with built in batteries? THIS was the epitome of convenience, and they just stopped doing it, except for the a few that have build in cellular. WHY?
I'll keep using my HooToo Tripmate Elite,

No OpenWRT. Even though the AX57 Go is a supported Mediatek chip, for example, there's no firmware available for it.

Note that this AX50 is only Wifi6 on the 5ghz band but only wifi4 on the 2.4, same as the TP-Link WR1502X. Good chance it's the same Realtek chip, in which case there's zero chance of supporting it. Edit: Guessing RTL8197H.

Size matters. Some people want something as small as possible and don't need a battery.This is definitely going in my collection, hopefully taking over the spot that my Glinet Slate used to occupy.

And the 2.4ghz band is only wifi4, not wifi6. This is a router you buy because it's small. None of its other features matter really.

Sure of course, if you can leave it tethered to an outlet, 100%. If your use case involves a lot of moving around, no convenient outlets, while still wanting to remain connected (think cruise ship here) , the size matters as well, and a battery is required!
It's OK, the market has spoken, when my HooToo dies I'll get out the duct tape. BUT if anyone see another travel router with a built-in battery, let me know!

Can't find a filing page for it either, but at least the FCC ID# is MSQ-RTAX8900 [fccidlookup.com]. Confirmed that it's so unbelievably basic that it doesn't use normal ASUS-WRT firmware and has to be set up via web page, it's not recognized by the normal "Asus Router" apps. Assume it'll never be capable of OpenWRT.

Buy it because it's tiny (and it really is). That's its only selling point.
