Reviews of seller are overall very positive and its a US warehouse, so you will know very quickly if its coming or not because if you dont get a tracking number in 2 days after purchase its probably not coming, since they quote 3-5 day shipping time.

This might be a legitimate seller. You never really know. Last time I ordered one of these $150 folding e-bikes from AliExpress it sat there for 3 weeks before AliExpress automatically returned my money because the seller was fraudulent. I just recently had to have Amazon credit me back $160 on an e-bike that didn't ship from Amazon as well. It might be worth the gamble to see if the seller actually ships the item. But be aware they can lock up your money for a few weeks.

Do you guys that have these bikes charge them outside? Lots of stories of cheap Chinese batteries causing fires.

It's not uncommon to see bargain electronics spring for B-grade cells or worse in an effort to cut costs. I think charging them outside is prudent advice.

This is a great price for the specs on that bike.
48v 10.4ah is a good capacity and the batteries are in a metal casing which will help if it ever catch fire.
I just don't like to buy from Aliexpress

Very good price. I have the larger amp version of this as Aovopro, or something similar. This is OK if you need a folding bike. Otherwise get a full size wheel version like a 5th wheel brand. Drives much smoother than a small wheel bike.

The last one I had issues with from AliExpress also was shipping from within the United States and had good reviews yet still never shipped it out. It's still a crap shoot when something is so underpriced on AliExpress... I would still try and order it, but when it comes to good deals like that I also like to take the chance.

Agree, but the metal casing battery have a plastic opening on top. Charge outside is still a good call.

You're right. At first said error coupon has reached it limit. Then it went to cannot ship to the US? Retried now it gives me $30off.

There are battery cases and fireproof bags you can buy on Amazon.

I prefer UL listed products from someone with a brand name they want to protect, but they are on my list for when my bike batteries are a bit older and/or start losing range.

Either in the garage if I trust the battery, or definitely outside if I'm unsure. For this, I would charge outside. My son's classmate's home was burnt down thanks to a lithium ion battery fire. I used to think "it won't happen to me" but I no longer think that way.
