I bought one too, been fine so far. I did go back and read the review, this is pretty much for walking while at a standing desk so you can get steps in while working. I did 20k steps on it just today with no issues. I think if you're not using it for this purpose you're missing the point. I'll make sure I keep on top of oiling it so I don't get the same errors but we will see.
