I can't find anything about this being compatible with the iPad mini 7, but at 5 bucks, I ordered one and will let you guys know if it works with mine.

Ordered two the other day and they are being delivered today. Using for my old iPad but I believe they are supposed to be compatible up to current 11th gen iPad.

Capacitive and should write at the least. Some features won't work though I'm sure. Pressure sensitivity maybe etc.

I just need a cheap for simple notes

I order this a few days ago before seeing this deal. This thing is awesome. I am very impressed. The only catch is Bluetooth has to be off for it to work.

Bought one of these last time for $5. Works really well. The magnet feels a little stronger than other knock off pencil's I've used.

Charged fast within 15 mins to a full charge. Feels solid and it's aesthetically pleasing. Built in magnet so it sticks to the side of my iPad. Not the strongest but it has a flat along its length, to assist holding flat while magneted down versus being 100% round like a cylinder.

For $5 each I just went ahead and ordered two more. Losing my $100 Apple Pencil made that an easy decision. Applicable models copied from the instruction manual:
