2-4-D is a good herbicide, but this 1.2% concentration here is pretty weak and isn't going to do much.

Best bet is to get liquid 2-4-D concentrate and spray it on. Look for "Crossbow." It should be around $30 at HD/Lowes and 32oz will make a total of about 20gallons...enough to cover about 4 acres. The equivalent coverage would require about 8 bags of this Scott's. So the cost would be almost $200 versus $30, plus the spray-on would be much more effective.

Not sure how this is different from the one Costco is selling. Last year i bought a bag from costco and it made no impact at all to my lawn (North Texas). This year those weeds have been crazy and thinking about pre emergent instead of post emergent.

How long should it take to be effective? And this won't affect laying grass seed after

Using this needs the granules to be able to stick to the weeds. Apply with the morning dew or else the granules just fall to the ground and do nothing for the weeds

Crossbow is a good option. My yard is about an acre so highly recommend getting a backpack sprayer if you have a big space to spray. I have had good luck with the Southern Ag brand on amazon. Tenacity is good if you are trying to kill crabgrass in the fall... but you need a plan after you kill it to put grass seed in. Lawn care is also very regional, so tough to make broad recommendations.

This is it. This is a silly gimmicky product. They granulated a herbicide that is supposed to coat the leaves for best effect. 90% of this ends up on the ground and ends up being an expensive fertilizer. If you do not apply it to the wet lawn, all of it ends up on the ground. Herbicide should be sprayed.

Mid Atlantic East Coast guy here.
I bought 8 45.26lb (now it's 33.9lbs?) bags couple years ago for $11 each.
Great SD deal.

I have had good luck with this product. Works well on my lawn. Does kill clovers and dandelions very well (turns them into dried green/brown color).

I would recommend them.

I was going to go this route because I have a half gallon of it on hand already from a previous project. . However, the tiny bit of research I recently conducted indicated you cannot use this on St Augustine grass.. Maybe i need to research this further.. would love to use without having to purchase something else

Same here. I ended up buying "Scotts Turf Builder Halts Crabgrass Preventer with Lawn Food", for about $20/bag. Currently says it's 52% off, but I can see I've bought it for even less in the last year or so. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000I1M...title&th=1

1st time homeowner here. No clue what I am doing. What should I use for dandelions and crabgrass in northern New Jersey?
