Site generating thousands of requests

As of a few days ago, I can't really browse the main Slickdeals page any more on my phone. It was super laggy and clicking deals to see the details would sometimes not load, and going back to the main page wouldn't work using the back button, I'd have to reload the site entirely. The browser was just struggling.
On my desktop I see that the page is making thousands of requests. I am not running an ad blocker, just Firefox with "Enhanced tracking protection" on. I've attached a recording of the network requests of what happens just sitting idle on the main page.
