Recently there was a posted deal about the Sonos One SL that got a lot of traction at $100. For $35 bucks you get what is claimed to be a much better product. Tempting.

The lowest I have seen was 119 one time from Sonos' eBay store. I think 134 is an outstanding deal.

If you have never bought Sonos refurbs directly from sonos you are in for a treat. The packaging is incredible; they look and operate like new equipment, and they come with the full 2-year warranty.

One Era100 is so much better than any of the higher-end Echos. I replaced our bathroom Echo with one, and the Era 100 has real bass and uses Alexa or Gus Frigns' voice for the Sonos Assistant.

I also have 2 Era 300s, which I think is overkill for most rooms. I split those up into different rooms. If I had to do it again, I would only get the Era 100s because the 300s are pretty big. Don't get me wrong, the 300 is an awesome speaker, but for basic music in the dining room, it is overkill. For surrounds, they are overkill. However, a single or 2 in a room, even without a sub, will sound great.

I bought one of these last time they were on sale. It arrived in pristine condition and has worked flawlessly ever since. The usb-c port on the back even allowed me to connect my record player to my Sonos system throughout the whole house.

Can you tell me more about how you connected your record player via USB C? I would love to be able to do this.

Considering this for my living room (consisting of a coffee area & some workout equipment, no TV), but don't need surround or anything.. just something simple to play music while making coffee or working out. Is one speaker enough?

Perfect! But be careful, that's how we started too. Then we found ourselves with a second for a surround. Then we wanted one for the kitchen, the basement, and now our house is filled with Sonos products.

Use of an Analogue to Digital converter that has a USB-C out.

Sonos sells a USB-C to Line Out adapter that I bought with the speaker.

https://www.sonos.com/en-us/shop/...in-adapter

I used the adapter to connect an auxiliary cable to my record player. The catch is your record player either has to have a built in preamp or you have to add one.

This Youtube video walks you through it pretty well:

I have a sonos arc and want to buy one just for some minimal surround... wish I could afford 2 lol but maybe later. Will having just one era make a difference right now paired with Arc?

One is definitely enough for that scenario. I have a full 5.1 surround system in my living room, but I still use a single Era100 for listening to whole home audio. I can fire up the whole surround system that I have connected to a Sonos Port, but it's just easier for my family to use the Era100, and I typically have it grouped with the ceiling speakers in the neighboring kitchen (also controlled by a Sonos Port and powered by my whole home audio amplifier. ). Sorry if that's too much information, but trying to get you calibrated as to why I think it's enough. I also control a Sonos Sub with this single Era100 so can bring bass to my WHA setup that is mainly ceiling speakers. This takes it to the next level and the sub is very thin so sits behind my couch.
