Hate this deal personally. Over 10 year old model, no air filter/purifier, no wifi functionality (meaning no home automation), weak heating, old design. Can often find the HP04 refurb for $220. Much better model for only $50 more. Just my opinion. Only benefit from the newer models is it's a smaller footprint in the room.

These are both available from walmart for 169.99. At least the white is available directly from Dyson for 169.99 as well. If you live near a Walmart the returns of so easy if you get one that's faulty.

I unfortunately had the opposite experience with the fan I bought a couple years ago. It looked straight-up used, and not at all refurbished, with scratches and scuffed paint all over the thing. The little sticker/tag on the power cord had pet hair and carpet fibers stuck all over it as well. It worked, but with so many obviously visible scratches for that much money, I ended up returning it.

I loved this so much I bought 3 of them nearly 10 years ago. However, the design is VERY flawed. Something is wrong with how the heater gets tripped up on dust and there is no way to clean it out. You can use a leaf blower or an air compressor to blow out as much dust as you can and it may start to work again, but most likely the heater will just stop again.

Also I'm pretty sure back when I bought them they were like 199 or 249 new not 450.

Walmart listing said "RESTORED", that scares mealong with many bad reviews. [walmart.com]

Maybe this video will help for a better cleaning. I agree for such an expensive fan, Dyson should have made cleaning easier.

Dyson, does not do their own refurb. Almost every manufacturer uses third parties to do the refurbishing on their behalf. There are very few exceptions, mostly in the electronics space. Refurbishing an electronic device is entirely different than Refurbishing a vacuum. You need much more infrastructure to clean something like a vacuum.

Regardless of wether you get it directly from Dyson's website, Ebay, or Walmart they're coming from the same warehouse. The Ebay and Walmart listings are both directly listed by Dyson. Each listing also says Refurbished/restored.
