Try this instead:
For the pasta:
- 16 oz elbow macaroni (or your favorite shape)
- Salt, for pasta water
For the "cheese" sauce:Cook al dente, then add cheese sauce. Optional 375 F oven for 15 minutes to get it crispy.
- 1 cup raw cashews (boiled 10 minutes, then blended with other ingredients)
- 1 and 1/2 cup unsweetened plant milk (oat, soy, or almond)
- 1/3 cup nutritional yeast (adds cheesy flavor)
- 2 tbsp olive oil or vegan butter
- 2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric (for color)
- Himalayan/Celtic Salt & black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp lemon juice (for tang)
