The photos of the fan in the reviews are not this fan. So someone re-used an old item amd put this one in its place.

Just incase you are using rhe reviews to determine if you will buy. They don't appear to be for this product.

how does it compare to this one that has been on sale for about the same price? doing the conversion on windspeed looks like the one in this post is about half the wind speed?

10 m/s ≈ 36.0 km/h ≈ 22.4 mph ≈ 19.4 knots
15 ft/s ≈ 16.5 km/h ≈ 10.2 mph ≈ 8.9 knots

My favorite use for these fans is for cooling hot food. In fact, I bring one to restaurants! Yeah, I know I look like a hillbilly in NYC, but when you have to rush to a Broadway show, this thing is da bomb.

Second favorite use is to spot dry spills on my clothes. In fact, I've even had to use the fan both cool my food and dry my clothes on several occasions.

These fans also work great as waist fans. Just stick it in your waistband or belt and aim it up at your face. Some people also like to put it under their T-shirt (while mounted in their belt) for body cooling.

Yes you will! On the highest speed, I can see it move a hung T-shirt about 6-7' away. That because the "jet engine" design focuses the airstream, making it go further. I will agree, however, that you won't feel it much outside because the natural crosswinds redirects the airstream. That's true of any fan, including the ones with wrap-around legs.
