I'm in for one. This bike has everything I have been looking for after a few low cost ebike purchases. Skinny tire is truly much better for my purposes than fat tire. Throttle is great for getting going from a stop. Integrated lights are a must. 21 speeds are a lot better than 7. And having a little suspension on the front fork really improves comfort. I'll post a review when it arrives.

This kind of bike can be fun for around-town or commuting. thing, but don't expect to be getting a mountain bike. A 500W motor in the rear hub struggles to provide enough torque to climb grades above 5-10%, especially at a larger wheel size like 27.5". The motor controller will overheat if you use high assist when pedalling below 8mph. Ask me how I know.

Mid drives are pretty much the only way to go for mountain bikes. They have their torque converted through the gearing, so they can handle any slope where you can get traction. You can do steep hills with dual hub drives or really large hub drives, but then you have such a heavy bike it's hard to call it a mountain bike with a straight face.

I'm not worried about batteries in 2026. Seems like these days batteries are all pretty good and chargers are all built on standardized ICs, so I'm not worried about fires. Cheap bikes will simply have cheap components that require more maintenance, aren't as comfortable and make more noise.

One other thing that will probably be painful is the brakes. They don't mention what kind of brakes this bike has, which is a pretty big red flag. Stopping is just as important as going. I see disc rotors in the pictures, so it's probably the cheaper mechanical disc brakes. You have to tune those regularly and they are more likely to squeal. Fiddly but fine for around town, but I wouldn't use this on steeps. In my experience, hydraulic brakes are good for years and > 10k miles, service-free. Unfortunately you can't just swap them in because the brakes often have sensors that shut the motor off and you'd have to replace like for like. Maybe you'll get lucky and these are actually hydraulic, but I doubt it.

I'm seeing comments about how its a 500w motor, but the listing is 1200w brushless. Is the listing just a lie?
Not to ponder, but is this just where we find ourselves shopping on these websites that it's all caveat emptor and the descriptions are guidelines until the physical product arrives?

The brakes are mechanical disc, they do work fine when adjusted correctly but most people don't realize they need to be adjusted both at the top by the handle and at the bottom at the caliper. Each location adjusts one of the two pads. Amazon "Zoom Hydraulic Disc Brake Calipers: HB-100 MTB" for a nice plug and play solution if you want better stopping power, they're hydraulic calipers operated by the handle cables and the hydraulic piston can apply much more force.

Definitely agree this isn't a "mountain bike" but what appeals to me is how "normal" it looks. Slap a "Class 2" sticker on this and ride it respectfully and hardly anybody will take notice or realize it's a "Class 3" bike. I plan to put some better tires and brakes on mine and mostly drive it around on dirt and gravel trails.

I would love to get a nice used mountain bike and do a hub conversion using my M18 HD12 batteries someday soon but this should be pretty cool for relaxing rides and not pedaling too often. The hill performance is pretty decent, you can maintain 10 MPH pedaling up very steep hills, there are some videos on YouTube

Wow is this really 21 speed? Not that it matters as much on an e-bike, but I've never really seen one that had the front (crank) gears. I've never seen an e-bike above 8 speed

3 chain rings is unusual, but it's hard to find a mid-drive by a premier maker like Bosch, Brose or Yamaha with less than 9 speeds. It's more common on Bafang and other Chinese brands because they tend to up-size motors to the point where things like gear ranges and legs are beside the point.

My bike came in! Ordered Thursday evening and arrived Monday afternoon on my doorstep in Austin Texas. Box was pretty beat up, but I can't fault Eskute or AliExpress for that. The shipping may have caused a minor blemish on the down-tube. There is a 1cm triangular scratch in the paint on a spot where the handlebars adjacent to the frame for shipping. I covered it with electrical tape to prevent moisture ingress. The bike comes 80% assembled, and you just have to put the handlebars on, put the front tire on, center and tighten the fork, air up the tires, and adjust the brakes (YOU MUST ADJUST THE BRAKES.) All of the shifting hardware is Shimano brand (that's good.) The front light is much brighter than some other aliexpress bikes (looking at you, URLIFE E20) but there is no rear light included with this bike. It just comes with a lil reflector. The seat is a firm style thin mountain bike seat. If you are a rider who keeps your weight on the saddle, you will probably want to replace it. I replaced it on my second ride and the seatpost that comes with the bike fits any standard seat and is easy to work with. All the included components feel at or above the quality you would hope for on a $330 bike. The required assembly after delivery took me about 45 minutes. Something that you might think you don't need to do, but definitely do need to do is adjust the brakes before first use. Mechanical disk brakes on bikes need to be centered, otherwise they squeel, rob you of power/range, wear out quickly, and lose stopping power. The adjustment is easy, you just loosed the caliper from where it is mounted to the bike frame (you can tell which bolts to loosen because they will be going through a line shaped hope rather than a circle. Once the bolt is loosened, you just slide the caliper in or out until it is aligned with the disc on the wheel, making sure there is a slight gap on both sides of the disc, and tighten the bolts back down. Once all that is done this bike rides great. The welds all look perfect, the front suspension does it's job, nothing rattles too much or makes weird noises or smells so far. I'm thinking I got a bargain. The pedal assist has a longer delay than some other PAS systems I've used. That can be a matter of taste though, because most people don't want pedal assist to kick in too quickly, it can be scary. Pedal assist and throttle are handled separately by this controller, so when you let off the throttle, it takes 1-3 seconds for the pedal assist to kick the motor back on and start helping you. I try to only use the throttle to assist me off the block at stoplights, mainly so I can be lazy downshifting. Which seaways into the shifters: they're fine. The rear shifter is 7 speed indexed and came correctly calibrated. It's even got a derailleur guard on it. Eskute made some odd choices with the front shifter. While it does carry the chain smoothly across the 3 available gears on the front cog, it is indexed for more than 3 positions. This is annoying because you find yourself looking down at the front cog to make sure the derailleur correctly centered on the gear you want to be in. Not a deal breaker, and easily changed with a new indexed shifter, but a weird choice out of the box. This bike is fast. I'm bout 5'9"-5'10" and I weigh 200 lbs (bout 91 kilos) and it gets me up to just over 27mph on a flat surface no problem. It also carries me up hills with very little effort on my part. I find myself having to slow down a lot more for turns because I'm getting to higher speeds on this bike than I do on my others. It's easy to not notice that you've gone over 20mph. I can't give you range estimates yet because I'm still riding on the factory charge, but I can say that it does the annoying thing that all cheap ebikes I've owned do, where the battery displays shows way lower than it's actual charge when you're going up a long hill. When riding up a long steep hill in my neighborhood, the display went from 4 dots of battery down to 2. Once the hill was cleared and I was on flat ground for a minute, I look down and the battery is back up to 4 dots. I think this has something to do with how with current works in batteries, but it's annoying to me as a guy who would just prefer a hard number to soothe range anxiety. I like the bike! I'll post again once I get a feel for the range on this bike. If you'd like to know anything else about it's design/performance just ask in this thread. I wish the manufacturers and sellers of these devices were more honest and direct on the sale pages so we didn't have to go to deals website to give eachother reviews, but here we are! lol

Yes. My fiance is 5'7"-5'8" and she fit the bike perfectly with the seat-post raised about two inches from the lowest position.
