It's exactly like any other utility knife. Milwaukee really be out here thinking their poop don't stink
It's pretty nice for a daily carry at a warehouse. Best I've used. This will be a good replacement, when mine inevitably breaks. Just lost the belt hook on my current driver.
Fun fact, the wire pocket clip on these also fits many Spyderco lightweight knives! My Manix 2 is going strong with the deep pocket carry clip off of this thing. Good utility knife too!
Pretty expensive for a utility knife, when I still have five from a pack I bought after a deal that are going strong after 20 years, that were only a couple of bucks, and a "quality" Stanley Classic made from all metal which was free after a $10 coupon. The average price of a utility knife is $5. Paying $20 is way too high. At that point, buy two pocket knifes (or 4-5 cheap pocket knifes from Walmart).

If it's like any other utility knife you're probably doing it wrong.
What you're supposed to do is pull the knife out of your pocket, press the button with your thumb, and flick your wrist so that it opens up FAST, hence the name "FASTBACK".
If you are operating it "like any other utility knife", you're probably pulling out the knife and unfolding it with both hands, more like a SLOWBACK.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

I worked a warehouse job for a couple years and realized I like a side slide box opener significantly more than a top slide or flip. I got this one[homedepot.com] since it was the only side slider at my local HD, and I'm happy with it.

Genuinely curious about that preference. Would you mind sharing pros/cons?
I like mine...the smaller fastback is plastic and the larger fastback is all metal...for those looking for the TLDR. Both operate pretty much the same. Look at the HD site for other deals...just search for "milwaukee fastback".

For me:
The slider is in a more natural location when I grab/carry the knife. If it's in my hand, but not being actually used, my thumb naturally falls on the side. So when I need to make adjustments, my thumb is already on the slider.
During use, I can apply pressure to anywhere on the top of the knife without risking unlocking the slider. Most knives with a top slider have a place near the front where you're supposed to apply pressure, but when I really need to push (cutting through thick cardboard) or just want to apply a little pressure (cutting through tape), I tend to apply pressure at varying places along the top of the knife. Having the slider on the side decreases the risk of me accidentally unlocking it.
It's obviously all down to personal preference, not saying side slide is objectively better.

Advantages of pocket knifes over overly expensive utility knives: multiple uses, and you don't need to replace the blades, only sharpen.
The disadvantage is that in many places a blade bigger than 3" or so is treated exactly like a gun. Even if it's legal, carrying a 6" blade will get you walked out the door in most corporate environments if the wrong person sees it.
