I need it. My fabric is 22 yrs old and weeds are always growing thru. Time to replace it, but it's a LOT of work. Hmmm.

This is a near equivalent for $58 at Lowe's for comparison.

I get this at sams club, it's a less plasticy material and seems to hold up well.

Can someone help me out . I have weeds I think it's ivy growing under by deck that is about 24 by 12. I have heard putting a tarp on top and letting no light get to the weeds will kill them. Any truth too this?

Yes it will take a month or two though.

Weed fabric is horrible for the environment. Even chemicals sprays for weeds do less damage

Landscape fabric does suck.
For those who want an alternative to herbicides, maybe try using a weed burning torch.

Its lose lose. Both are awful and this one in particular will shred very easily and have plastics just whittling down into micro plastics into the ground. They have some paper weed fabrics that definitely are not as durable as these plastics but are the alternative to use if you care about your soil health and the earth in general

But easy to pull. You can't stop weeds but you can make it easier. The roots can't grow deep and it'll stop some of the creeping weeds. That's the goal.

Weed fabric is a very bad idea. Over time, the weed seeds from the air will land on top and you'll get weeds. The fabric wont let the soil breathe. The fabric will then break down into microplastic and contaminate your soil. Avoid at all cost!

echoing this sentiment. I did not buy this specific brand, but a similar spec/weave/material from a-m-z and it's one of the worst products I think I've ever purchased. That might seem like hyperbole but it's like buying a water bottle in the desert with holes all over it. literally a waste of your money, your time and your sanity.

this is the one I purchased for comparison [amazon.com]

crab grass was growing up from the ground, through this material, in less than 30 days. this isn't even addressing the fact that it's awful to work with.

DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT.
