Yeah, they are very careful not to use the word "credit" on any of the pages detailing Audible Standard.

This is just to force people to keep paying for their account, not a good deal at all.

I'm going to do it even though I don't get to keep the books. The new Murderbot book comes out in May and despite placing a hold at two libraries on Libby the first day I could place one it'll be July before I can get it. I'm happy to pay 99¢ to read it the day it comes out.

Wow. I've been on the verge of rejoining lately because I thought "standard" was like the old plan without the Audible Plus crap. Might do it for 99 cents, but definitely not $9.

I signed up for standard a few days ago not realizing it was a different plan than premium. The book I wanted wasn't available on standard. There was no option to upgrade to premium. I had to call audible, have them refund/cancel my plan then sign up for premium. It was really annoying. Stay away from the standard plan. I hope this isn't the end of good audible deals.
