I bought this one couple years ago for $20. It's $36 now, but also the longer handle. I mostly leave it under my truck seat. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084PTSCTV?th=1

I keep one behind my seat best legal tool to have with you no matter where you travel. The Germans were onto something.

Just get an e-tool. I earned expert badge in e-tool engineering in the USMC back in the day. Haha. But then again, it wasn't a "Special Forces" e-tool

I bought the longer handle version of this last time it showed up on slickdeals and kept it in my trunk ever since. Never used it before but you never know... Pretty cool looking though. You wouldn't want to mess with someone who had one of these.

I have cut roots and dug a trench with one. It's compact and very sharp. MUCH better than USGI shovels for cutting and digging through tough clay. Not as efficient for scoping out dirt though.
