These DDR / SSD prices are so high it's causing a disturbance across other parts of pc building. Look for motherboards, cases, power supplies and peripherals to be heavily discounted. Possibly many of your favorites could go bankrupt if this issue isn't settled soon

Settled? This is the new normal. We mere humans are no longer important. Just be happy AI doesn't use blood.

Yep. Mankind will pour all its resources into AI. We will continue to dedicate countries worth of power to it, destroying livable cities with the noise, continue to feed the US government with your data, and rip away all consumer advancements in the name of AI.

We are only at the very beginning of AI. We have yet to see anything.

I noticed prices have been coming down. Been seeing deals pop up here and there. Looks like they getting rid of all the junk first though. I expect to see massive deals on DDR4 then sale and normal prices again on DDR5. All before end of the year. The "shortage" is fake for higher sales. Confirmed by order #'s I seen on shipment forums.

How to use this with newer AMD processors?
good thing you can't use this with an AM5 processor, because you'd be buying a downgrade with this ram.

We decommissioned a bunch of PCs a couple of years ago and I harvested the 16GB and 32GB DDR4 sticks from them. I have 128GB in my desktop for no reason other than I had them lying around. Sounds like perhaps I should dust off the dozen+ sticks I have in the closet and throw 'em up on Marketplace...these prices are bonkers.

It'll start to plateau once all the land has been bought up for data centers which will push nearby home values down.

I got 64GB of G.Skill Trident Z Neo CL16 3600mhz ram for $110 a year ago. It will likely be in my system for the next 5 years.
Using the exact same memory as you since 2019. Had one stick start to fail this year and just clocked down to 3200 and no problems since. I've got so much roi on this old ass 3900x build.

In the short run there will be retailers trying to move some unsold products cheap. In the long term the makers of those related products will have to charge more to stay afloat.

My goodness. This price is still insane. Good thing I built my son a computer last year because I am not buying a RAM for this price. Even NVME/SSD prices are out of control.
