I switched to these because I wanted a better wireless solution than plugging in a Bluetooth transmitter and gluing that I to my Sennheiser 599. As far as the sound goes, out of the box the M4 sound like doo doo when trying to connect to PC. I learned you CANNOT use the microphone on PC if you want any sort of quality with the audio. The app to control the headphone settings are pretty good. I always use transparency mode and it lets a decent bit of sound in, but nowhere near as good as the open back 599. As for comfort, maybe a tad less comfortable but I'll wear them for 5+ hours at a time. The audio sounds fine when using with a phone, even with the microhpone so if these will be just for a phone then you shouldn't have any issues. Overall if I were to compare them to my 599 I'd say they're about 80% as good on PC after a few hours of tinkering with windows settings. Battery life is great, I can get more than a full day of gaming in them and they charge back up in about an hour. I bought them for $190 back in November.

Not being able to use the mic and headphones at the same time is a limitation of Bluetooth as a whole, not these headphones. Bluetooth has limited bandwidth and in order to provide reasonable microphone quality, it has to drop the headphone quality and, more noticeably, switch to mono instead of stereo.

Ah yea, maybe it wasn't clear from my post, but the headphones defaulted to connecting with the microhpone if I remember, so the audio went from ounding great on my phone to sounding like dial up garbage and I seemingly did nothing different.

Yeah, you gotta make sure its not connected as a headset on windows, my QC 45s don't default to the headset sound like yours but I disabled the headset mode anyway by disabling it in the recording tab of the sound panel. I did that so I don't accidentally switch to that option when I'm switching sound sources, but I imagine if you do that it won't default to headset mode.

Does anyone have experience about the mic noise cancellation on Sennheiser Momentum 4 when connected via USB for Teams/Zoom vs Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro? I don't want to use bluetooth and don't like that the Nova Pro requires a base station.
