The Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless have a slight edge over the Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 Wireless due to the better noise isolation on the Sony. While both are premium headphones, the Sony are a bit more comfortable; their ANC blocks out more ambient sound, and they support LDAC, which is a Bluetooth codec for streaming high-quality audio. They also have a virtual soundstage feature to help make your audio seem more immersive and spacious. However, the Sennheiser are no slouch: they also have a much longer continuous battery life, and they support aptX Adaptive, which is a Bluetooth codec that dynamically adapts to your audio content to give you either lower latency or better audio quality. If you want USB audio, only the Sennheiser boast that feature, but their ANC isn't as strong as the Sony.

Love these and the battery lasts forever. I cannot take a flight without them now and even though touch controls are horrible on everything, these work pretty well and I use the double tap to passthrough sound when people start talking to me.
I am not sure why they are listed as foldable, because they are straight up not, but I am able to fit them into a sling bag for flights. The cups do turn inward to make it more flat-ish. The cups are soft leather and do produce a little ear sweat but nothing more than any other ANC headphones. The headband is really soft silicone and is really great on the head.
Only downsides are that it is a bit heavier that it's peers and the ANC is not perfect. Buttons are touchy but useable. The upsides are incredible sound, super long battery life, and cheap.

The XM4s sound pretty bad when EQd to be flat. They're just technically unimpressive. I have to think the Momentums sound better. (Naturally, XM-series products will always have a leg up when it comes to noise-canceling.)

I always EQ all my audio devices to be flat, and I think I agree. But what headphones would you recommend for excellent audio and noise-canceling?

I'm not well-versed in wireless ANC headphones, to be honest. I do most critical listening at home and most of the time, my Space A40 earbuds suffice for outdoor listening (albeit heavily EQd). That being said, my over-ear wireless headphones of choice are the Cambridge Audio P100 SE. Tried those, the Nothing Headphone (1), and the XM4 since they were $100 cheaper. (Returned the XM4s immediately.) The Nothing headphones are beautiful (in my opinion), but they just didn't get loud enough for me; there was a volume limit they incorporated into the firmware to prevent distortion. Soundstage and imaging were great, and they sounded good when they were loud enough. Still, the P100 SE didn't have that problem, and EQd, they sound comparably resolving to my ATH-MSR7b's, which are pretty damn capable mid-fi wired closed-backs (when you EQ out the mid-bass). To get that quality in a wireless headphone for roughly the same price is impressive. I'm not picky when it comes noise-canceling, though—it more than gets the job done for me. Battery life is also best-in-class. They make my neck a bit sore after hours of listening since they are quite heavy, but the headphones themselves are quite comfortable otherwise (for me). My price point was $300 or less, so I was going to try the Px7 S2e and Momentum 4s had I not been satisfied with the Cambridge, but I was, so I stopped there.

thank you for responding. i have the xm4 and like them, but they do feel somewhat uncomfortable after an hour or so. might give the sennheisers a try

I appreciate the response. funny enough i havent really tried the EQ option setting to flat. will have to check out the momentums to see if they're a good option for my needs. Thanks again for your feedback

I purchased this exact color over the holidays. They look great in my opinion. I find the sound relatively neutral with emphasis on the low end, fun and engaging but not tiring. Pretty comfortable too. No pain or pressure after 3 - 4 hours. Touch controls are intuitive with above average reliability. I love that headphones turn on / off when taken out of or placed in the case. I think I haven't pressed power button since I first turned them on. Bluetooth is stable and it always connects without an issue. Battery life is amazing. ANC is good enough for me but I haven't had a chance to try Bose or Sony, so maybe I don't know what I'm missing. I payed a little less for an open box, but would not hesitate spending $200 on a new pair.

I go the XM4s. I have to say, not impressed at all. They are pretty average. The ANC is good though.
