Definitely don't recommend with low quality lithium cells. There's always chance they randomly drain too quickly to output the amps required for the alarm to recognize a low battery to warn you. Better off with dollar store 2 for $1.25

Can you even change batteries in new ones. They are now sealed and they pretty much expire in 10 years, really weird thst this is new trend, a lot of plastic waste, a lot of malfunction. I had to get warranty replacement and they are not cheap. Smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors are expensive.. They said maybe I didn't clean it enough regularly that's why it malfunctioned... didn't clean it enough.. what?
I'm 0 for 4 getting 10 years out of a sealed smoke alarm. Lasted 3-7 years, before they all ended up beeping for low battery, and it's a pain to flip the little slide switch to shut them off.

in some communities you can get free detectors from your fire department.

I just tried the code and it still worked for me.

I purchased these batteries the last time they were on sale. One good thing about the battery is they actually measure 9 volts.Mine measured 8.97, 9.00 and 9.05..the other one was in the meter. I would not use these in a smoke detector as they will probably just go to zero volts when they get low. (not tested this)

They have a life span of 10 years max, after that they aren't reliable. Take a chance and cheat death for under $100?

LoL so dramatic. "cheat death"

The chances are sooooo small. Car crash is higher.

First. You have to have a fire. (Small chance)
You have to be home.
You would have to be asleep and not smell it at all.
It got so big you can't escape.

I can keep going.

any use these in smoke alarms?
I bought a four-pack of similar rechargeable 9V batteries of a different brand a few years ago. I don't use 9V batteries often and usually just need one from time to time in an infrequently used gadget that is stored without batteries installed. I fully charge them whenever I use one (a few times a year), and one or two of them is usually dead the next time get one to use. I won't use them for anything where reliability is important.

Same here. For me it was: The promotional code you entered is not valid.

There is ZERO possibility of building a 9 volt battery in the standard form factor of 9 volt batteries that has 1400mAh capacity. ZERO.

The container is just too small unless there's a tiny nuclear fuel source inside it. And then you would have all sorts of insurmountable other problems.
