Why wouldn't anyone pay $100 extra for the M5 chip that has 40% higher GPU score than the M4, and double the SSD/memory speeds? Retarded people like to find excuses for their bad purchase choices rather than get smart. The reality is if they were cost conscious, they'd bought during BF when Amazon had 20% off warehouse deals when you could've gotten a 216GB 15inch Air in Like New for about $760.
Basically this is a terrible deal. If this was $999 I might give it a second thought.
The performance difference between the M5 and M4 is roughly 15-20%. Assuming a 15% difference, M4 should be $1,105 ($1,300 less 15%). Since the M4 is last year's model, and if apply a modest 10% depreciation, that brings the M4's value to $995. In my opinion, A truly good deal requires at least an additional 10% discount, making the net price $895. This one not looking too good mathematically.

frankly not much of a reason to get this deal. get the m5 one for $100 more on apple.com or cheaper at microcenter if you're near one, or get a refurb one from apple.com. 15 inch for 930 (256gb, less than this post) or if you're patient enough to wait for a better deal, the 13 inch m4 for 760 comes in stock occasionally but sells out fast. i was lucky enough to get one and you can't even tell it's refurb. they even give a brand new battery
