There are other audiophile reviews that will rank Sennheiser sound quality as better.

Note that after the promo code ($170), it is marginally less than the refurb in the other colors https://us.sennheiser-hearing.com...4-wireless ($180) at ebay also. (Ebay offers free 2 year warranty instead of 1 https://www.ebay.com/itm/374452356126)

How are these compared to the Sony XM6? Like 80% as good? Mostly interested in the noise cancelling capabilities.

The Sony WH-1000XM6 outperform the Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 Wireless in most areas. Their noise suppression is more effective across the frequency spectrum and against sounds like airplane engines or background chatter. The Sony also pulls ahead with a more capable microphone system and support for extra features, including virtual surround sound, Bluetooth LE, and gesture-based controls. That said, the Sennheiser hold their own with some practical advantages: adjustable noise cancelling and nearly double the battery life.

imo these are closer to xm4 or xm5 competitors.

I have been using the Momentum 4 cans for more than a year now. Very happy with the sound; but if you're looking for noise cancellation - better look elsewhere.

review says nothing about sony costing twice as much at $400. what a joke! Ive got M4s on now and had them for years and sound great for half the cost of overpriced sony.

Refurbished xm4 and xm5 cost about the same.
Sound quality is little better on M4 but noise canceling is way better on XM4.
Both are killer deal at around $160-$200 range.

I use XM4 on flights and M4 at the gym.

Just pick up the Bowers and Wilkins Px7 or 8s. If you are an audiophile, you will not be disappointed.

I've owned multiple Sennheiser headphones over the years and they are one of my favorite brands. Ultimately prefer KEF but sound is so personal that only you can decide what sounds best. Having said so many offerings just pump up the deep bass. Sennheiser is a more neutral and accurate sound across the entire audio spectrum which is my favorite contour.

It's only $30 plus tax difference. Win some , lose some. Move on
