This is almost a perfect laptop in my eyes...
  • 🤔 The cpu is the only hitch, that I see. Its a 6 year old power hungry and hot (up to 50w-60w) quadcore cpu.
  • 👍 Thunderbolt ports allow for using and eGPU for gaming, as well as hubs and extra monitors.
I watched a review that mentioned:
  • 4K Screen effects battery life
  • Right hand exhaust vent
  • No ethernet port
I wonder how much performance would be lost by disabling turbo-boost... 🤔😉

Because it's a 5 years old laptop. And a new ThinkPad with these specs won't ever be this price.

The biggest problem with this laptop (apart from the price) is the CPU. Current i3's trounce this old i7 and its slowness is very noticeable even for basic tasks. The 32GB of memory is wasted in this. A better deal would be this laptop with 16GB for $250... that would be fair.

Please. I have this cpu in my x1 nano. It's more than adequate for everyday tasks, even with 16gb and an aging battery, all crammed into a smaller footprint.Typical browsing, office, media consumption, running a second monitor over Miracast... no issues.

So ummm how do I put this... a passmark score of about 9000 isn't gonna be noticed in basic tasks. Not even slightly. There won't be much a difference between this and that newer i3 in performance. What would hold it back more noticeable would be if the ssd is dramless and the integrated graphics wasn't powerful enough, those are bigger determinations. Nobody buying this laptop is going to subject this to software that requires real GPU or intensive processing tasks. This will crush spreadsheets all day and I can guarantee in blind test between this and a newer i3 there would be no difference.

I think this laptop has a great screen. For office related tasks and for anyone a fan of the thinkpads. 11th gen i7 isn't really a deterrent. Nobody is playing games on this or running blendr or unreal engine or adobe premier or davinci resolve. But for office related tasks this is great. And almost any photo editor would probably run fine on this with a screen as nice as that. And many tools now a days are browser based so the device is becoming less and less relevant

Lenovo ThinkPad T14s model laptops are currently under investigation since 2025 for a potential class action in regards to multiple unresolvable defects, including:
-- USB-A and USB-C ports not charging devices or recognizing peripherals
-- Internal microphone missing or not detected, even after BIOS/driver updates
-- Temporary improvement after firmware or BIOS updates, with problems recurring later
-- Inconsistent results from warranty repairs, including system board replacements
Affected customers have tried multiple troubleshooting steps with little or no success:
-- Reinstalling Windows or updating firmware often provides only short-term relief
-- BIOS/Embedded Controller (EC) updates yield mixed results
-- Lenovo support recommendations like toggling microphone privacy settings or resetting Windows rarely solve the issue long-term
Some users have received depot repairs or motherboard replacements, yet the problem often returns, raising serious concerns about product reliability.

SUMMARY: Fantastic deal on paper, especially with RAM prices. But be warned.

I can only assume that you don't know what you're missing and are blessed with a saintly amount of patience. Do you use anything more powerful for comparison? This cpu is a dog. Woof! Grrrrrr!
