And here I wondered why haven't I seen these before? Thanks for setting my head straight. I was thinking in terms of ikea furniture light work like that. Would you recommend it for that? I hate the key that comes with the IKEA crap and my hex set is like an all purpose knife. I'd really like to just grab some allan wrench tips like they have for a screw gun but haven't come across them.

They are quite helpful to have instead of fiddling with hex keys, just don't be stupid with them and they are fine. Don't hit something hard with an impact, don't hammer it down with max torque on a drill. They can save a lot of time if you don't over tighten anything.

I had a cheap pergola that needed to be disassembled in the fall and found a hex-head bit. It made the job probably at least 3 times as fast and I was glad I had. There were probably 50 hex screws in this stupid thing. So I'd say these have some particular functionality.

A good set of "efficiency" tools that save time rather than using the dumb L wrenches .
