They seem way less prone to mold. Easier to clean with hotter water too.

We don't like the yellow flowers on our feeders - they seem to attract honey bees. Bees are great but not when you're trying to feed tiny birds. They take over. Plus our feeders hang on our back porch - don't need the bees there.
