The one problem I've found w/ the silicone tops is that they sometimes will not stay in place if you let your hand/finger off. However, they don't interfere w/ the brewing so far as I can tell. As long as the Nespresso is able to clamp down on it completely, then it works as expected. It's when you pop the lid back open and the pod comes out you may have issues w/ grounds spilling out. I just use a dirty napkin or something to catch it at the back now. And yeah, the cost savings over the life of the brewer is huge, I think.
