The number of people who don't know what this device is for in this thread is at least 2.
For the record, it's like the regular kindle, except it has colors. It's not an iPad or Tablet. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk. The more you know.

Thanks. I was wondering what the purpose of these would be with tablets being pretty much perfected these days.

Arguably the biggest difference is that this is an e-ink screen, which means it's almost like reading paper, it can be read in direct sunlight with no glare or problem, and the screen only uses power when it changes.
