Those are bypass loppers vs the one in this deal, which is an anvil lopper. Bypass are great for shearing through live branches and they leave clean cuts, but anvil type are for cutting through dead/dry ones and are noticeably better at that job - not to mention less sharpening maintenance required given the task it's designed for. You can use bypass on dead branches, but it's more effort + dulls your blades faster, and then anvils on live branches basically smash them and will damage your trees and cause you whole other issues down the road.

What's odd is the text notes 1.25" cut

But...the 4th pic on the amazon product page notes 3/4" cut....On SD, it's the third pic.

A half inch is a big difference or am I missing something!

I contacted amazon to confirm which is correct (assuming wrong pic but you know what happens when one assumes...

New design, material, could prove out. But this seems a better deal:

These are much heavier to carry around. I'm in for the short ones to supplement my long pair.

I always reach first for my lopper with the telescoping handles.

Good to know the difference. I've used my bypass loppers on both dead and live branches. My tree trimming chores are mostly done these days. I'm far enough down the road that I can almost see the gate from here. :-)

Different uses but also the smaller size on these make all the difference when you're in the middle of a rose bush trying to reach a branch to cut. The larger ones are great (I have both sizes plus small ones), but it's so much easier matching the lopper size to the task. And if you're getting larger ones, consider the model with the extendable handles. That extra reach becomes important when you're up on a ladder.

I've got this lopper and I don't really reach for it that often since I've got hand pruners and the long loppers so this one ends up being somewhere in the middle of those two. It's built well though.

You can get the same style of loppers plus a pair of pruners for $25 at Costco. Or a loppers (different style) + pruners + hedge shears combo for $25 at Target. I'd say either is a better deal than this.

I have this lopper, and I'd say that 1.3" is about right, if conservative. This lopper is small, but mighty, and the blade is strong, maintaining sharpness. I use a small Corona blade sharpener on it every now and then, but it holds its edge. Find myself reaching for this lopper for most small jobs, mainly due to it's convenience. TBH, the price doesn't look all that slick to me, but I'd highly recommend the tool itself.

It's only $20 at Costco in store, and the lopper and the pruner work well!
