Did they ever fix the issues with the display? I remember a lot of reviews about a yellowing screen or something like that.

Yes and no. Mostly a fix by yellowing the whole screen to hide the issue.

That being said got one yesterday and love it for comics and manga. I like bright and white, and it looks great so no yellow line. Small text, but readable.

I was split between this and paperwhite signature edition. People swear that paper white is extra bright, extra crisp, much faster and more. But I still went with color soft, I am very likely not to use or even notice those flag ship features of paperwhite but will easily notice lack of colors. I had 8 year old oasis model, If this new color soft exceeds oasis I am more than happy.

I chose an old kindle for trade-in. Got the $20 amazon gc instantly, but the 20% off isn't coming off in cart at checkout, just the $20 gc is being applied. i'm choosing the base color model only, no bundle. Please help!

Is this still the first version that had the yellow band? Or is it a newer version that corrected this issue? And to get discount on new kindle do you have to have a recent kindle, or can it be a really old kindle? Because if so, I may wait another year to upgrade and hope they release a newer version later this year that is less laggy (as some have mentioned this one to be laggy) and not have the yellow band.

It can be a really old kindle. It had Kindle Keyboard on the list.
