Looking for a 4K monitor for my 4K security system. Is this the way to go? Or is there another option?

I have two of the 32" version (32UN880). After a few years or so, one of them started to get image retention. But it does go away after being off for a while. I think it was due to overheating because it was actually the newer of the two.
I can't say how the 4k video/image quality would look (as my security cams are only 1080p, and at times.. very compressed), but 4k content looks pretty good on it. Mine is a matte screen, I don't know if that version is the same, but it doesn't bother me compared to gloss.

300 cd/m² (Min.) 240 cd/m² seems too low to me

Not sure why you'd need the detail for a security system where you can zoom and crop as needed.

Unless you just enjoy sitting there watching people on it all day or something.

Wow this is the cheapest 4k IPS monitor I think I've ever seen?

Wish there were any 32" 4k IPS monitor deals. 27" is too small for 4k for my liking, don't like to have to rely on scaling.

Why wouldn't you want a 4K monitor for a 4K system? You pay for the better detail with a 4K system so to me, to get the most out of it, you need a 4K monitor. To me, it would be like hooking up a 4K blu ray player to an analog tv.

You have a great point. I never thought of it that way. But now, I will consider 4k for security, since I'm already paying for 4K cameras.

Fyi, Buy 2, get another 5% off. Saved me another $17.70, knocking final price to $168.15 + tax. Pretty decent deal.
