I have a 3 device license and I always swap devices. All I have to do is login and remove the device you don't want to use anymore from the list

In my several decades of life, I have yet to find anything advertised as lifetime that actually is lifetime. There's bankruptcy or just going out of business or changing the terms or coming up with an updated program that ends up retiring the lifetime app or subscription. Or a company gets bought out and that ends anything lifetime

Agreed! I remember when OOMA came out in 2007 promising FREE PHONE FOR LIFE when you purchased the Ooma Hub, which was over $200 at the time. I bought like 3 of them. It didn't take long before Ooma realized that the monthly taxes they were paying on 100% Free Phone Lines would bankrupt them in short order. So after about a year, original Ooma purchasers were grandfathered in with their 100% free phones, but new purchasers had to pay monthly taxes/exchange fees.

Then Ooma created the Ooma Telo in 2009. Upgrading the hardware and trying to force the original Ooma Hubs into obsolescence. But I hung in there, and kept that Ooma going. Probably got rid of it around 2017, so I got a good solid 10 years of 100% free home phone service. My mother-in-law is still using one of the Ooma's I bought from 2007! But the service is kind of spotty, and the old Oomas have become quirky with newer tech out there.

Once cell phones really got traction and prices came down, there really wasn't much use for a land line anymore, so I don't miss it at all, but it was quite the savings while it lasted.

Brave blocks all ads on YouTube?
If you want to block ads on Android, you can do it by uBlock origin + firefox browser and if you want to block youtube adds you can use revanced manager to create a custom patched youtube app that has no ads. This is what I do myself, but if you want to block ads on any browser, using AdGuard is a better option.
I'll keep using firefox + Revanced Youtube for my phone, but adguard is for my wife and kids since they aren't tech savvy

Just FYI, no matter what the official jurisdiction is, this is a company that can be controlled by russia, not just because of their russian roots, but because they still have russian employees. According to the russian law, russians in russia must cooperate with the russian security state. You'll be giving this software full unrestricted access to your phone/computer/data/communications.

Are you using it on mobile devices?
I was using AdGuard on a Windows desktop and multiple phones. But I migrated to NextDNS and never looked back. NextDNS is much more robust and customizable. If you really like AdGuard filters, NextDNS lets you use those. Oh, and NextDNS offers a completely free option that is suitable for most users. It's kind of a no-brainer imo.

If you just want to get rid of pre-streaming ads and the ones that interrupt videos, Brave browser does that...no need to install 3rd party ad blockers/hacks. Brave browser even lets you share YT links directly. I stopped using YT app years ago.

I'm still using the free lifetime Ooma service with the original hub and it still works great here. Can't exactly remember when I bought it but it's got to be close to 18 years ago. I got one for myself and for my girlfriend at the time (now my wife) shortly after we met 18 years ago which is how I remember it. I'm pretty sure I got it on sale. I wouldn't have paid $200 for it, and there's a good chance it was a deal posted here at SD. So while they did stop offering the free service, they have kept the free "lifetime" service for the OGs approaching 20 years now, and still going.

Yes. Plus, you can add custom filter lists if you want to beef up its built-in ad blocker.
In iOS, you can also install the uBlock Origin extension for Safari, which blocks YT ads. Brave is much more robust, though.

I have a lifetime license, but just changing my DNS to Adguard uses less resources. It's 90% as effective as the app in my experience. And it's free to everyone.

If you use their instructions, yes, but I find using NewPipe is easier.
I use Opera on Android and it blocks all ads on YouTube if you use the browser instead of the YT app.

Edit: use the following:
dns.adguard-dns.com
to create a manual DNS profile

Pro tip: If you have a vpn with a connection point in Albania you won't see adds on YouTube.

But it will be around long enough to be worth the cost. Who actually thinks lifetime means their own lifespan?
