Note that these are insulated. A lot of people prefer insulated, but I prefer uninsulated, because they can be comfortable in a much wider range of conditions. Granted, I run hot, but even if you don't, these might not be comfortable for the kind of spring skiing temps we've been getting too much of this season.

I'd also note that these don't provide ratings for breathability or waterproofing. I'm sure they're fine for $88 but the list price is pretty high to not provide that info.

Still, nice to see a decent price on bibs from a reliable brand on the front page!

Got a pair... not my first choice for color but will hopefully match my mustard yellow jacket OK. At the very least, I'll be easy to find by my friends/rescue team, ha ha. Thanks!

I agree, I prefer uninsulated gear as well with layering underneath. It allows you to use the jacket/pants in a wider range of temps. In addition, TNF freedom jacket/pants have always been part of their lower end line. It's something I would get for my kids or family that might go play in the snow for an hour or two a couple times a year. But if you're spending an entire day on a resort or backcountry multiple times a season, then invest your money in something with a better waterproof membrane.

I prefer insulated bibs/snow pants and layer the top. It's wayyyy easier to take off top layers than muck about with taking off layers from your bottom, especially with ski boots on

I'm new to winter gear, should insulated pants like these be worn with another pair of pants underneath or just underwear?

I was set to get these but a lot of reviews online say they tear easily. Either at the seams or just from use.

Probably just some long underwear, sweat wicking, like Under Armor or something. To give you an idea, I'd wear these and my UA longs and ski in anything the east coast could throw at me, never once was cold, down to -10 at least.
