To all the ppl who recommended this the last time it popped up (especially with the brush), thank you!!! I am not kidding, I filled our vacuum up with lint two whole times using this. We are so freaking lucky our place didn't catch on fire before using this.

Sure why not. I also want to try this on my overhead heater in the bathroom. I recently had to clean that out by hand on a ladder and it made a gigantic mess. I think this vac attachment and the brush would work for that.

Thisis for servicing the lint catch from inside the machine or behind the machine but we had a local lint clean company come out b/c our dryer was running for long cycles, turns out the vent on the top of the house on roof, was fully blocked, they use a reading in some velocity to capture this (the technician explained how we had extra joints that would cause more time to run teh cycles) etc., anyways it was worth the $99 because the dryer was on 2nd floor. Just sharing this b/c dryer fires are are a real concern.

This post hits it on the nail. The majority of all build up that causes issues is at the roof, where it pushes against a cover. If it was this easy nobody would need dryer cleanings.I used a tool to attempt to self clean. It secured an extension on a drill bit, then had a brush on the extension that was supposed to clean it the vent. It ended up falling off the extension and being stuck it my 15 foot dryer vent exiting through attic on my roof. So then I was out the dryer cleaning, plus a $200 tool retrieval fee. Dryer vent guy said he retrieves at least two tools a week. But said in best case even if it doesn't fall off, the cap at the roof has to be removed to get all the lint out successfully
