I pulled the trigger recently on a 77" C5 and now I wish I didn't. I have a 65" Panasonic OLED from 2024 and I really like it.

C5 has a much brighter panel, far better TV overall

I'm an Apple TV guy but the worst part of these TVs has got to be the Fire TV OS right? I loved Panasonic plasma from years ago and just recently let it go. Been looking for a new large TV and this is tempting.

Yes. Fire TV OS is hot slow garbage. Plug in your Apple TV to have a proper experience.

Why is every HDTV a Fire TV these days? I especially hate the Fire remote, it's minimalist garbage. I want numbers on my remote dammit!

Leave the TV offline and use a box or stick with Android/Apple/Roku etc. Let the firetv just control the basic TV functions

I can tell you the Panasonic is plenty bright enough for my light controlled room. First thing I had to do was turn down the brightness. There seems to be a brightness war going on when the fact is tv's are getting brightness levels no one will ever use. I got it for its up conversion, which Sony and Panasonic are the best at. What do you base the "far better tv" statement on?

I have light controlled room as well but many people don't and so the brightness help when watching TV during the daytime in a room full of windows.
