The specs say that it contains 1 NiMh AA battery. Better flashlights are available locally.

I bought the more expensive model from this seller at 3/$20, and was pleasantly surprised. The amazon reviews at 4.8 were true.

all my old flashlights that use disposable batteries were banished to my cars, where they will eventually die by leakage.

FYI - uses 18650 2000mAh battery. In for one, thanks.

Many reviews state it uses a regular replaceable 18650 battery. Hard to imagine a flashlight this size using a single 1.3V NiMH battery. Its dimensions are 1.57 x 5.9 inches, which is more than enough room for an 18650 battery. There would be an enormous amount of wasted internal space if it used a single AA. 1.57 inches is over 40mm in diameter, so it's easily large enough to accommodate an 18650 or a 21700 or even a 26650 with room to spare but I'm going to make a guess that the listed 1.57" diameter is the widest part or the head of the flashlight, and the handle itself is narrower & fits an 18650 snugly.

Ah, the same fate as so many of our brethren exploring the Amazon...

Considering all other known factors, that would have been my first guess, . I would've been comfortable betting my left testicle or even my first born child that it wasn't a single 1.3v NiMH AA. 😂
