It's what I do for every new computer, regardless of the brand.
You can create a bootable Windows 11 install USB flash drive using the free tool Microsoft provides.
It's the best way to ensure all manufacturer bloatware (and spyware) is completely cleared out.
Windows activates based on the device, so you don't need a key; it'll activate automatically as soon as it gets an Internet connection.
Community Reviews
GMKtec's NucBox M8 looks like a compact Ryzen 5 PRO mini PC with Oculink that lands well for the price, especially for light gaming, a Steam box, or a small Linux setup. The 16GB and 512GB configuration is the main draw, and Windows can be wiped and reinstalled cleanly if the factory image feels cluttered. The biggest limitation is the LPDDR memory, which cannot be upgraded, and the listing may also be wrong about HDMI, with the product page showing HDMI 2.0 instead of 2.1. It is a capable small system, but the fixed RAM keeps it from being as flexible as some alternatives.
A fresh Windows 11 install can clear manufacturer bloatware and spyware while still activating automatically after internet connection.
Driver installation may be minimal because Windows can run without extra OEM drivers in many cases.
The Intel NIC driver pack can cover Ethernet functionality without copying an OEM driver image.
The HDMI port specification may be incorrect on the product page, which helps shoppers verify the exact HDMI version before purchase.
LPDDR memory can be a dealbreaker because RAM cannot be upgraded after purchase.
Driver sourcing can be risky because downloaded GMKtec drivers may not be safe, even if functionality requires them.
Boot-time popup overload can require extra cleanup time before the system feels usable.
Windows installation may require careful setup choices, including handling Microsoft account prompts during setup.

If not, you may need to download the drivers from GMtec, and there is always a small but non-zero chance that they're not safe.
You don't need to copy the drivers from the original Windows install. Just install Windows and then install drivers if some functionality or port isn't working.
