Creality gets credit for helping make mainstream 3d printing possible/popular but they have been left behind and haven't adapted and upgraded like several of the other companies who jumped in since. I don't know a lot about this specific "s1 pro" but the ender series in general is less desirable than several other companies/models now in the budget printer area.
While I understand this is brand new, I got an Anycubic Kobra S1 refurbished (from Anycubic themselves) for $220, and it's a full Core XY printer, not a bedslinger like this one. It's much faster, has better print quality, a multicolor option, and a really great user experience. At this price, I don't think this is a great deal. Especially because for $167 there's a flashforge AD5M that's also core xy and better print quality compared to this.
Don't do it! Manual bed leveling is a PITA. You can pick up refurbished ender 3 v3 plus for less on ebay dirdct from creality.
How bad is manual bed leveling? (Sounds like a dirty phrase). So do you have to manually move the head to diff positions and press the down button until it reaches the plate?

Correct, a time consuming PITA. My old S1 was pretty much a set once and done unless you moved it, you still need to check Z offset at least occasionally. Newer generations, no matter the brand, are a lot less hassle, faster and have better print quality.

So if you look at each corner of the bed, you will see a wheel. You have to get it level as possible on each corner. It's too much playing around. The ender 3 v 3 plus is 180 through creality ebay store and works out of the box plus a larger build volume. The ceeality hi is 270 and does multi color, smaller build volume though
Would this be considered a good beginner printer? As someone who knows basically nothing about these at the moment.
No!

A beginning that wants to get frustrated and deal with messing with a printer, sure. Much better starter printers available now though between $200-300. There are a couple that are have deals pretty frequently on here that are good cheap starter machines... Elegoo carbon 1 is a solid single color but primed for "engineering" filaments is a great little machine that mostly holds up against printers 3 or 4 times as expensive. And the flashforge ad5x is a good multicolor option if that's your need, though with a bit smaller build plate and not ready for engineering filaments or if the box (but upgradable). There is another one or two on here that have great deals as well but I don't know much about those.
Bambu is often suggested for starter printers because of their streamlined ecosystem and it all works pretty well. They do have budget friendly A1 mini, or full size A1 are much better options than this creality. Of course if you have the budget you can get better options all around but these are great starter printers.

No get the v3 se if you are in a budget
But probably there are a lot better options now.
Whatever you get make sure it has auto Z offset and bed leveling
This isn't a good deal. It's not that you can't make some really great print with this printer and if you got it for well under $100 I would say, enjoy it until you decide you want multi-material or faster print speeds. The leveling wheels aren't that bad in this model because they are only needed for rough leveling. This printer does have a bed level sensor but you will have to get the z-offset correct. That's largely a set and forget until you change the nozzle. This printer uses the old, low cost nozzles. Really, it's not that bad... But for around $200 you can get printers that do just as much and are faster and are network capable. The Flashforge 5M is much faster and has almost the same build volume (a bit less in Z). You can get an FF 5X for a bit more and have multi-color We've had the Anycubic Cobra deal mentioned above and the Elegoo Centari Carbon is not much more yet offers a bigger print area and much faster speeds. Basically this is a printer that can produce good prints and doesn't require all the fiddling of the older Ender 3, 3 Pro or 3V2. But it's just been passed over by better, faster designs.
