Rubbermaid Brilliance Glass containers stand out for their tight snap on lids, leakproof seal, and oven, microwave, fridge, and freezer friendly glass. The 8 cup size is roomy for lunches, and the glass avoids microplastics. Storage is the main tradeoff, since the lids are size specific, lid storage takes planning, and the glass pieces do not nest or stack especially well. The sealed design also means the lids and seals need to be dried thoroughly to avoid trapped water. A solid pick if you want airtight glass and can live with the storage quirks.

  • The lids can provide airtight performance without leaking during storage use.

  • The containers can nest or stack well enough for cabinet storage when handled properly.

  • The glass containers can be used across oven, microwave, fridge, and freezer settings.

  • The lids have a snap or lock feel that can make closing feel secure.

  • The vented lid gaps can trap water and create mold risk if drying is not thorough.

  • The containers can get stuck when nested, and removing them may chip the bottom.

  • The glass containers may crack at the mold seam on the bottom, leading to replacement cycles.

  • The containers may not handle extreme temperature changes well because they are not borosilicate glass.

I don't have a picture. The glass ones of this size do stack, but not as well as the older plastic Rubbermaid Premiere version. Figure no more than 40% of the height of one container stacks into the container below it. You'll also have to solve the lid storage issue.
I would agree with the 40% height of one container stacks into the container below it. As for the lid storage, maybe something like this would work?

as mentioned in the previous reply - these do sort of nest. But they can also get stuck to each other while nested... and when you take one out of the other - the bottom one can get chipped. Overall, I've been using these for many years (got them from SD), and am very happy with the product.
Maybe nesting them with a sheet of paper towel between them or something would minimize them getting stuck. Just a thought.

Yes, just dry completely before putting away.

When mine come out of the dishwasher (top rack), I tap them on the sink a few times to get any water out of the cracks, then let air dry on the counter before storing. I've never had issues.
Have you had any issues with the rubber on the lids? Dishwasher safe is a huge bonus for me!

Seems like I'm in the minority here but I'm not a fan of these. The gray locking flap on the smaller sizes I have keeps falling off. Despite hand drying well after each use, the rubber seals on the inside are either deteriorating or moldy on a lot of them. Sticking with the vintage pyrex going forward.

Looks like target has similar sale on Rubbermaid brilliance glass. One 8 cup, two 4.7 and two of the smaller ones for $43. If you need an assortment, the target one is comparable in price to what you get

Can anyone attest to whether and how well the glass ones nest when not in use? It's annoying that Rubbermaid (on Amazon or their own site) doesn't bother to have any photos of the containers nested. Do I really need to see a photo of them stacked with food and the same exact photo of them stacked empty? How big do they think my kitchen is that I can afford to stack them all in my cabinet with the lids on when I'm not using them?

FYI, set of three 4.7 cup also on 90-day low price.
Thanks for the tip on the 4.7 cup, been waiting for a deal on these!

I like the look of these when I see them in store, but I have too many Pyrex/Snapware containers to buy these. I like the interchangeability of the lids on all the Pyrex stuff, don't want containers with specific lids at this point
Theres only three lid sizes for like 6 containers sizes (not counting the rounds).

I researched these containers and came across some info regarding nesting the glass containers. On Rubbermaid's website, they do not recommend nesting them, claiming the glass containers can get stuck to each other while nested. Rubbermaid recommends to put the lid on THEN slack them on top of each other. I agree it can take a lot of room if you can't nest these. I just bought two (4 containers) sets so will have to figure out how I will nest them.

Honestly nesting the bottoms and nesting the tops (saucy!) creates more clutter and slower flow when putting things away and grabbing to use.
