Meh, better to stick with the ones with built in handle, otherwise it will likely be dropped a lot.

Yeah, I just took a look and there's a 2-pack of the 20-compartment organizers [homedepot.com] for $32 (NOT a sale price). It seems like there's some particular use-case for these organizers that isn't immediately obvious -- maybe attaching to the top of one of the larger cases so you can still see half the contents of the case underneath? lol I don't know, unless you just plain need a smaller case it doesn't make too much sense.

In fact, unless I'm missing something these cost 40% more per compartment than the 20-compartment organizers. Even weirder, buying a single 20-compartment [homedepot.com] (vs the 2-pack I mentioned above) is $25, so it kind of feels like they're gearing up for a massive increase in prices or something.

Just doing some cursory research into some of the other organizers that are stack-compatible with these: it looks like it used to be common for the deep parts organizer [homedepot.com] (the one with removable compartments) to go on sale for ~$10-13 pretty regularly, but as of now it's priced at $30. The even weirder part is,the shallow version [homedepot.com]is almost the same price at $28. I don't usually track the price of these particular products, so it could be completely normal. Just wanted to leave breadcrumbs in case anyone finds the data useful. ʅ(́◡◝)ʃ

Also be ware that these have plastic snaps to close the case, and those break easily (especially in cold), these are NOT durable clasps. Should be a lot of pictures of broken closures in the reviews, like the larger version that also has rigid plastic snaps, that also snap. Just be ware of this design flaw (or cheapout in production) by not having the multi-part metal clasp that the shallow and deep organizers have...

Correct - If the picture does not clearly show the metal clasps, they will be plastic, and they kind of stink. If it really had the metal clasps, they always proudly show it in the pictures.

I noticed the same thing. What's even stranger is that the same two-pack is also sold as a "package" for $50:
