PhotoSync app. Been around for over a decade. On WiFi + charging at 2:00am = trigger backup to share (and about 25 other cloud locations, should you choose).
Have this, been pretty good so far. I cancelled iCloud photo back up and now it gets backed up to this. But you have to open the app to back it up (I haven't looked at automating this yet)

sorry im a noob, if i use ssd instead of hdd in the bays, can I play game and edit video with the data and media on this NAS from my gaming pc over ethernet?

Does this not have a photo app built in like synology? Or why not set up something like Dropbox to sync to a folder on this and have the photo app watch that folder for new pictures?
