The other $1,799 M5 Pro model posted has a 15-core CPU with slightly worse battery life, 16-core GPU, 24GB unified memory @ 307GB/s bandwidth, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, Thunderbolt 5, and weighs 3.5 lbs respectively.

If you care about playing taxing games or render times, then upgrade. If you're just looking for the best overall MacBook experience on a budget, this is a great choice.
Seeing that the MBP M5 starts at $1,699 now, this is a great deal. And you get all the benefits of a MacBook Pro - my favorite being ProMotion (which the Air still lacks).
