inflated retail price. These are cheap Fiberglass paddles not carbon fiber.

Unfortunately it's not inflated retail. They aren't good. But that's also why they are heavily discounted... This would be an ok starter set. But the shape would still be more detrimental to beginners.

Only use case I could really see of value is to use as trainee paddles, and then that's only a good deal of you need a bag too.
