Find the AT Command under the Internet SIM settings:
AT+EGMR=1,7,"123456789012345" (replace with your desired IMEI)
The GLI has a X62 Qualcomm modem and the closest real devices would be an iPhone 13/14 or Galaxy S22, A36 or Motorola Edge 2024.

Not having band n28 in the US version would hurt when traveling to EMEA as it's the rural 5G. Will need to take a closer look if the EU model matches T-Mobile bands here as I would like to keep it as global as possible. Too bad I missed the early bird sale.

When I use to root and rom my phones, it was pretty straightforward to bypass hotspot by changing TTL. Couldn't I still do that or use a different method like VPN tunnels or apps? I'm sure this router would be more powerful and flexible, but I have free T-mobile phones like Moto Edge 2024 and Pixel 10 and only need a small network. Am I missing something obvious, like maybe phone hotspot only works for a couple hours or have a limit on connected devices?
Maybe Merlin only supports certain devices. Next would be to try openwrt or ddwrt. But I hate the GUI in those and struggle to get the basics working.
