I have this drill press and am mostly happy with it, but I really wish the gearing went lower... At its slowest speed it's still too fast for anything more than 5/32" into steel or, even worse, stainless.
The laser and work light are surprisingly helpful, with the laser on my machine being accurate to less than a 1/32". I always thought of lasers on drills and saws as gimmicks, but find myself using it more and more.
It could use a bit more power, as it gets bogged down in hardwood with forstner bits, or in aluminum with anything over 1/2". For work in softwoods this drill press is good, and it's nice to have the CVT rather than having to open the top.

I got the predecessor to this back in 2017 (the 4214) and it's been good to me - this looks virtually the same.
Haven't used it a ton but it's always done the job when I do need it. FWIW, paid ~$150 back then.

Wen sells parts for these, and if you're looking for a cheap upgrade, you can swap the chuck out on this to keyless for about thirty bucks, and save yourself a bit of headache.

I have the standing version and it's excellent. Though I wish I went with the benchtop version instead. Might have to hack the tube.

DPA-167h is a frequently returned item. Also not very suitable for benchtop presses.

Nice price. Purchased the (1) Wen 8" drill press, (2) Bench grinder, (3) belt sander, (4) oscillating sander, (5) router, (6) tractor forks, and (7) electric wood splitter. All great products. Would jump on this if I had the room for it.
